According to the latest data (2017) released by Eurostat, Italy's hourly labor cost is below the Eurozone average. In fact, the hourly cost for the entire economy, excluding agriculture and public administration, has slightly exceeded 28 euros at the end of last year, compared to the average 30.3 euros in the Eurozone, and much below the levels of Germany (34.1 euros) and France (36 euros).
