Month of Italian Fashion 2024

On October 15th it was launched the 4th edition of the promotional campaign of the “Italian Fashion Month”, organized within the large-scale distribution fashion project in Slovenia by the Italian Trade Agency Office in Ljubljana, in collaboration with the Magistrat International group. The project is supported by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, with the support of the Italian Embassy in Ljubljana.

The Magistrat group confirms itself as the most important retailer in the fashion sector in Slovenia, a primary dealer of medium-high range products, which this year becomes a strategic partner: owner of Galerija Emporium - a luxury multibrand flagship store located in a historic art nouveau building from 1903 in the heart of the capital - and of the modern Emporium multistore inside the BTC shopping center, one of the most popular shopping malls in Ljubljana, as well as the online website emporium.si.

The campaign lasted one month until November 15th and included promotional activities at the two stores and on the online site emporium.si, as well as advertising in the main national media, TV channels and digital marketing campaigns on social media, aimed at promoting the new collections of Made in Italy fashion products offered by the 50 participating Italian companies.

This year's campaign spotlighted the autumn-winter collections, showcasing high-quality items that epitomize Italian elegance, quality, and creativity. These collections have garnered increasing appreciation from Slovenian consumers.

The promotional program included a calendar of events for the presentation of the participating Italian brands, in addition to the eagerly awaited Italian Fashion Show scheduled for October 24th, a highly anticipated event in Slovenia, which has become a brand in its own for the fourth year in a row, during which the apparel and accessories of Italian companies were presented on a catwalk in front of a selected audience, in a magical setting of lights and music, in the presence of well-known Slovenian personalities from the world of entertainment.

During the press conference, held on October 16th at the Emporium store, the Ambassador of Italy to Slovenia, Giuseppe Cavagna, underlined the importance of the Italian fashion system and illustrated the excellent performance recorded in 2023 by the broader fashion sector (which includes textiles, leather goods, jewellery and eyewear), especially in terms of exports (Italy is the second largest exporter in the world after China, with €81.7 billion and an increase of 1.5% compared to the previous year), despite the uncertainties of the current geopolitical landscape.

The Director of the Italian Trade Agency in Ljubljana (ITA), Giacomo Ricciotti, illustrated the results achieved in Slovenia by the promotions of previous years and recalled the commitment of ITA in promoting Italian fashion through collaboration with large scale distributors, which, since 2015, has seen 80 agreements concluded around the world. In 2023, Slovenia imported fashion and textile items from Italy for €295.5 million, an increase of 2.6% compared to the previous year and a market share of 18%. Italy is Slovenia’s leading supplier of textiles, footwear and leather goods (2023 imports of €182 million and a market share exceeding 20% in both categories) and the second supplier of clothing, after Germany, with an import of €114 million in 2023.

The Director of the Magistrat International Group, Jožica Brcar greeted the audience of journalists invited to the press conference and thanked the Italian Embassy and the Italian Trade Agency for the support received during the campaigns. “We don’t cover bodies, we dress people”: this is one of the main messages of the fourth edition of the Italian Fashion Month in Slovenia, an initiative that aims to highlight the connection between fashion, art and culture.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency, the presence of Italian suppliers at Magistrat International has expanded and become more diversify, consolidating their image and decreeing a success in sales.

The Italian Fashion Month is an event much appreciated by the Slovenian public and participating companies; the Italian Fashion Month is considered the national reference for the novelties proposed by the Made in Italy.
