We achieved maximum milling flexibility by replacing the cylinders’ traction system with direct-drive torque motors. This way, we can give the desired rotation speed to each grinding cylinder, varying it based on the needs, without stopping the machine or replacing components. Moreover, we can continuously check the torque and rotation speed, handling information and adjusting the motors’ drive, the wheat supply speed, and the cylinders’ closing pressure. That’s how we obtain a controlled and optimised milling speed. These parameters can be saved and used by the machine’s control unit each time the same product conditions are met. With the Flexy Mill system, we can set the machine automatically based on the milling needs or vary them depending on the technologist’s needs.
