PERLA DEL GARDA Winery and Farm

The history of our family is embedded with the passion for the land and its fruits. A farming tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation, at the foot of the Garda Lake, through the work and dedication of those who gave their own contribution to “Made in Italy”.The wines we produce are LUGANA DOC and GARDA DOC, each with its own character and soul, are the stories of those people, whose commitment and originality in the vineyard and winery, make each bottle a unique experience.
Harvesting of the grapes by hand between August and November and the gravity-flow technique of wine making, are the two mainstays of our production method. The decision to certify a sustainable production chain is an act of transparency and honesty towards the consumer. A vineyard of about 13 hectares out of 40 has been organically farmed and with the 2016 vintage we produced our first wine, called BIO, made with certified organic grapes of the Turbiana variety.

Lugana
The white, refined lakeshore native known as Lugana has an illustrious pedigree: although its origin was certified in the 1700’, the viticultural heritage of the area traces back to the Roman Empire.
Its unique qualities originate from the beneficial microclimate of the lake, the local clay soil, and a particular variety of locally-grown Trebbiano grapes named “turbiana” that make it full-bodied, age worthy, and grant it a floral and citrus bouquet.
Today Lugana is one of the best-selling Italian wines on the market.

The Garda Doc has its roots in these hills embroidered with vineyards, in a hinterland that reveals unique atmospheres.
A predom-inantly hilly production area that surrounds the lake, extending from Valtènesi to Valpolicella, from the banks of the Mincio River to Verona.
This lake, the largest one in Italy, is the heart of appellations of excellence that un-fold among castles, around small picturesque ports and in small villages, where time seems to have stopped.
