l'Opificio

l’Opificio is an Italian textile company founded in 1998, specializing in the creation of high-end furnishing fabrics. Our production includes velvets, jacquards and technical textiles designed for Residential and Contract interior design projects.
Our identity is deeply rooted in the Made in Italy culture, understood as a synthesis of aesthetic research, material quality and artisanal expertise.
Each collection is developed through a creative process that combines contemporary design, colour research and consolidated textile know-how.
Alongside our collections, we develop bespoke solutions for architects, interior designers and international partners, offering the possibility to customise fabrics and products according to specific project requirements.
This flexible approach allows us to support clients from material selection through to final application.
Sustainability is an integral part of our philosophy. Through the Slow Fiber project, we embrace a responsible approach that prioritises quality, durability and respect for resources, promoting a vision of conscious and long-lasting luxury.
Our collections are distributed internationally and used in high-end residential, hospitality and retail projects.

Get inspired by the mountain atmosphere: warm and relaxing interiors, a crackling fireplace, the snow of the roofs. Timeless interiors with and elegant and refined soul, where In and Out blend harmonically together. The warmth of the wood, the scent of the pine trees, the starry nights all of them contribute to create a suggestion of welcoming evening seating on a comfortable sofa after a day of skiing, a warm bubbly bath and the embrace of a soft textile that cocoons you.

l’Opificio dedicate to these moments the Alpine Collection, the best in Italian textile tradition: natural fibres as raw linen and Merino Wool, refined taste and 100% Made in Italy manufacture.

For the Salone del Mobile 2026 l’Opificio presents a new collaboration with designer Chiara Andreatti, author of three original collections – Incisa, Signum and Fiora – which interpret the company’s textile identity through a refined, essential and distinctly contemporary perspective.

The collections designed for l’Opificio express a sober and conscious idea of beauty, where detail is never decoration for its own sake but part of a coherent expressive system. The result is an authentic dialogue between design and weaving, reaffirming the company’s commitment to investing in collaborations capable of intertwining research and design culture with solid manufacturing quality.

Incisa originates from a rarefied natural inspiration, suspended between a marbled effect and the surface of bark: irregular and slightly inclined marks alternate in an organic balance that generates depth and a continuous visual movement. Signum translates a more graphic and archetypal imagery, evoking a primordial script made of doubled and slightly misaligned forms capable of producing chromatic vibration and dynamic tension across the surface. Fiora introduces a more poetic dimension, with a floral pattern featuring a soft, textured and nuanced stroke, born from a grease-chalk gesture that preserves spontaneity and delicacy; brushstrokes blend into adjacent shades, creating a diffused luminosity that is never merely decorative but strongly atmospheric.

All three collections are produced using the lampas technique – with two or three wefts respectively – developed in linen and viscose, cotton and viscose, or cotton chenille, and presented in an articulated range of colour variations designed to naturally expand design possibilities for both residential and contract interiors.
