I believe that every human being is capable of sketching their own path in life, joyfully performing artistic deeds independent of predetermined procedures, making each day truly unique. In the balanced harmony established between flora and fauna, vines and vintner, and grapes and winemaker, I nourish the inner strength to produce a wine independent of the fluctuating fashion trends, and most importantly capable of offering itself as a means to materialize the personality of both producer and grapes. As a vintner/winemaker I carve the personal appeal of each wine whereby grape varietals, viticultural region, and production techniques contribute but do not determine the character of the final product. Through the simplicity of alchemic winemaking, I invite the consumer to an introspection aimed at stimulating all human physical senses in a simple yet powerful ensemble with the impalpable sphere of thoughts, emotions, memories and feelings. In such wines I seek to resurface the scent of memories and the taste of emotions that contributed to the evolution of the fruit on the plant, and the harmonious interaction with the winemaker in the cellar

Ca' Barnaba

The vineyards in the Ca’ Barnaba village yield the grapes that make the basis of our Ca’ Barnaba wine; our dreams, emotions, and feelings make up for the rest. Ca’ Barnaba has a dark ruby red color, that turns slightly brown when aged. The fine scent is strong and clean at the same time, with a clear expression of the tertiary scents. At the palate it is full bodied, balanced, and with a strong aromatic aftertaste. Suggested food pairings: Ca’ Barnaba is best paired with roasted wild game, and is also well combined with fatty or seasoned cheeses.

Foglia Nera

Our Foglia Nera natural wine comes of a deep dark color, and a bouquet of flowers with sharp notes of lilly and geranious; the spicy notes are typical of this grape varietal, whereby green pepper prevails in this wine. In the glass and at the palate, Foglia Nera evolves and reveals numerous aromas in a finely blended concert. As a back taste, Foglia Nera shows a surprising complexity that may lead to place it as part of an older vintage. Food pairings: thanks to its structure and body, combined with food Foglia Nera behaves as well as an aged red wine, excellent companion for red meats, thick sauces and dressing for hearty first course dishes. NB: this wine shows how the enfant terrible when given responsibility and let work alone may turn into the enfant prodige!

Bergius

This particular wine is made of late-harvested grapes, produced only those years when the season allows for such late harvest without compromising the health of the grapes. Bergius is of dark red, with ruby shades that shift towards brown with ageing. At the nose, it revolves around ripe red fruits (blueberry, raspberry), floral scents with spicy and pepper notes. When aged, Bergius develops elegant tertiary notes reminding of leather, and at a smaller extent, to tobacco and minerals such as graphite. Bergius’ flavor is both strong and persistent, and fully bodied with tannic notes that point out its excellent aging potentials. Suggested food pairings: Bergius is best paired with hearty meat dishes such as stewed beef and broiled polenta.
