An elegant, intimate and cosy mise-en-scène, a collection with an ultra-contemporary concept, that replicates itself but is never the same, that changes and changes dress. This is the new MeMe collection, the result of a perfect synergy between the Kriladesign team and designer Davide Montanaro.
The three lamps, portable and rechargeable, are born from a perfect combination of polymethylmethacrylate and other materials such as wood, PVC and neoprene. They have an LED-illuminated heart with a "touch light" dimmer device that diffuses a natural light like that of the sun. A collection unlike any other, creative, whimsical and elegant, with a unique design, suitable for indoors and outdoors, customisable. Where did the name Prometheus come from? We chose it inspired by the fantastic world of Greek mythology and the character of Prometheus ('he who reflects before')
Who was he? He was a Titan, cousin of the supreme Zeus and a great friend of mankind (created by him at Zeus' behest).
An ingenious mind and good heart, Prometheus was deeply touched by the plight of human beings on Earth, creatures who were still primitive and lacked fire.
He then decided to defy Zeus' ban and gave fire to humans to free them from darkness. In a daring gesture, he stole a spark from the chariot of the Sun on Mount Olympus and brought it to Earth as an essential gift for survival and progress; fire to illuminate the darkness but also fire for heating, cooking, and working with metals.
Zeus' wrath was terrible and he punished him by chaining him to a rock in the Caucasus, where an eagle devoured his liver every day, regenerating it nightly in an eternal cycle of pain. Despite his unspeakable suffering, Prometheus never bowed to the will of Zeus and his stoic sacrifice made him a symbol of those who defy oppression for the good of humanity and the pursuit of knowledge.
That flame of Prometheus is reborn in our lamp, to continue to burn and inspire our luminous energy, so that it may continue to shine guiding us towards new future directions, despite darkness and adversity.

The passing of time, the sedimentation of memory, accumulated wisdom, these are the elements that this design encompasses and expresses. It is a citation of the classic chandeliers, with their curved shapes and on which candles were placed.
The reinterpretation features a design of sinuous laser-cut curves and transparent plexiglass cylinders fitted with a special diffuser, recalling the idea of a candle. The indirect light that Old Age produces is generated by numerous LEDs with colour temperature control.
