Colle Manora - Wines of Monferrato

Founded in 1981 by italian top fashion designer Mila Schön, and managed now by her son Giorgio and his wife Marina, in Colle Manora a set of values Italy is worldwide renowned for has found its synthesis: quality, style, passion. This proud historical territory teams its indigenous grapes with the aromatic fantasies of various international varieties and produces wines with specific characteristics: Italian style inspired by the creative drive of Mila Schön, the “Lady of Fashion”; while the owners’ passion for red racing cars is expressed in the label: a simple stroke of a red pen next to a bunch of grapes.
The property is located between the borroughs of Quargnento and Fubine, and dominates the hill at the centre of an amphitheatre formed by vines, bordered on the North and East by woods with acacia, oak and wild cherry. 20 of its approximately 75 hectares, are planted with vines and enjoy a very favourable microclimate.

100% Sauvignon blanc. Young, sapid and aromatic white. Named after the magnificent Mimosa trees surrounding the vineyard, it’s an extraordinarily clean and elegant wine, delicately varietal and seductive: banana, peach, pineapple and exotic fruits welcomes the discovery of yellow flowers and aromatic herbs. From hand-harvested grapes, the wine rests on the yeasts for a few months before bottling, to enhance the pleasant aromas and the charming freshness. A wine for sea lovers, it perfectly matches with seafood salads, pasta and risotto, roasted fishes, and also fresh cheese and cured meat. Surprising with Sushi, as cocktails base, and for relaxing happy hours.

60% Chardonnay, 40% Viognier. Gently oaked, full bodied white wine. Inspired by the extraordinary fashion designer Mila Schön, founder of Colle Manora, it’s the gift of the combination of two extraordinary grapes and our generous terroir. The running juices ferment in stainless-steel vats (Viognier) and in french barriques (Chardonnay). The wine rests then sur lie for 12 more months, developing charming nuances. Blended before bottling, 12 more months in bottle complete the first evolution of a wine that can age for decades. Wine of infinite nuances, great with Italian and International cuisine, important fishes, lobsters, and crayfish. Elegant aperitif with blue cheeses, it’s perfect to challenge complex recipes and exotic spices.

100% Barbera. Deep and bright ruby red wine. Intense bouquet, supported by the aging in oak. Great personality, with scents of dark spices, violet, cherry and forest fruits. Soft and round, fruity, full-bodied, proud ambassador of its terroir, Manora is surprising for its harmony of flavors, texture and freshness. The gently touch from the barrique caresses the palate, highlighting the beautiful aftertaste. The Barbera d’Asti Superiore DOCG Manora is a great example of italian tradition and elegance, and perfectly pairs with meat, roasts, and spicy stews. Delicious also with pasta and everyday dishes.

100% Albarossa. Deep ruby, embellished with characteristic purple hues, Ray has a deep and wide bouquet, tickling the senses with fresh red fruits, vegetables, spices. Albarossa is a rare grape variety, born from the marriage between Nebbiolo di Dronero and Barbera. An autochtone grape with great potential and complex evolution, whose cultivation is now in the hands of just few wineries. Warm, soft, vigorous, its personality is revealed in the abundance of red fruit, exotic spices, vegetables, evolving over time with surprising complexity. The harmony between the velvet tannins and the alcohol accompanies its intense persistence. The Albarossa grape shows its best characteristics with meat, cheese, lamb, and tasty dishes. Try it with ethnic cuisine!

60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot. Intense, round and full bodied.
