Casar - the historic brand of a Sardinian product
which confirms the great tradition of the Italian
preserve industry throughout the world.
Sardinia - a land were tomato growing started back in
the early 19th century.
Ou tomatoes are coltivated today with the same
passion and dedication as in the 1960s, based on
technical agreements whitch Casar signs each year
with growers, covering each phase of the production
cycle. Casar tomatoes are harvested, selected and
trasported in the shortest possible time from field to
factory, where they are sorted, processed and tinned
in just a few hours, preserving the flavour and
nutritional charateristics of the fresh produce.
Casar Ltd is a firm that has been processing tomatoes
from Sardinia, since 1962.
It’s placed in Serramanna, 35 km far from Cagliari, in
an area of 120.000 square meters, 31.000 of them
indoor.
All our tomato products are exclusively made from tomatoes grown in Sardinia.
The excellent quality of Casar products arises from a careful combination of elements and processes
from the field to the table.
The first key element is the quality of the tomatoes, guaranteed by careful choice of tomato varieties
and cultivation areas, field cultivation techniques and harvesting methods and periosd.
All these aspects are carefully planned and managed to enhance the flflavour and nutritional value of
our tomatoes.
So behind each tomato product there is a “chain” consisting of farmers, technicians, technology,
checks, research and experimentation, which all go to ensure that our products maintain their
qualities from field to table.
Each year, the Casar factory processes thousands of tonnes of tomatoes, producing Peeled tomatoes,
Chopped tomatoes, Tomato purée and Tomato concentrate which reach the tables not only of the
Sardinians but also of a host of customers throughout the world.
Casar is cetified for production processes (ISO 9001), enviromental protection (ISO 14401) and
product traceability systems (ISO 22005); BRC, IFS Certificates (International standards for food
security), ISO 18001 (OHSAS) Management System of safety at work;
HALAL certificate which guarantees suitable food for consumers of the Muslim faith.
Casar tomatoes have grown according to an integrated pest control system that guarantees both the
products' quality and the consumers' health.
