Crewneck sweater - 100% Camel Hair

Camel wool is one of the rarest and most valuable natural fibers. Its unique characteristics are due to the extraordinary climatic adaptation of camels, which live in desert areas and mountain ranges, adapting to large temperature fluctuations.
By nature, the hair has excellent thermoregulatory properties: it maintains a constant body temperature in both hot and cold conditions, a unique feature among wools!
Camel hair fiber has a hollow structure that helps to retain air and allows it to absorb more moisture than other types of wool. Therefore, in addition to being very warm, this wool is extremely breathable.
The harvesting of camel wool also has unique characteristics: camels are not sheared but combed when they naturally shed their hair during the summer moulting season.
Each camel provides only 7/900 grams of hair per year, making this wool difficult to find and rather expensive.
The hair is collected by hand according to tradition: the fleece is fine, soft, slightly curly, and beige in color. Camel calves are blond, almost white, and their hair is particularly soft and prized, while in adult camels the color of the hair ranges from light brown to brown.
The artisanal production of Parramatta knitwear allows us to preserve the extraordinary natural qualities of the fiber, including its color: we produce two different undyed colors as well as a variety of dyes that are unique on the market.
We produce a limited number of unique pieces, which we number on the internal label.
CREWNECK SWEATER - YAK YARN

Yak is a massive bovine animal (adult males can weigh up to 800 kg) with a thick coat, adapted to survive the harsh climates of high mountains up to 6,000 meters above sea level in Mongolia, the Tibetan plateau, the Pamir Mountains, and the foothills of the Himalayas.
Yaks living at high altitudes develop very thick coats, so long that they often touch the ground.
Their coats are characterized by long hairs on the back and a thick, soft undercoat.
Yaks are protected, monitored, and considered sacred by indigenous peoples.
At the end of the harsh winters, the yaks undergo their annual coat combing: each adult yak produces on average less than 1 kg of undercoat per year, while a few hundred grams are obtained from the young. The herders also collect the hair that has been lost naturally or caught in bushes.
The value and absolute quality of the fiber, and the methods used to collect the hair, which cause no harm or distress to the yak, excited us and prompted us to add yak to our knitwear collection.
The yak fiber comes directly from its place of origin, more precisely from distant Mongolia, and is carefully spun in Italy.
An exclusive product in terms of intrinsic content and environmental sustainability. A unique product that does not involve animal farming, with all that this entails in terms of respect for the animal and the consequent impossibility of industrial-scale production.
The fleece is processed when and if it is available. Production is limited and subject to quotas. The quality, due in part to the natural production chain, is extremely high and in some ways superior to cashmere. A niche product with exceptional characteristics intended for a select few connoisseurs, for whom PARRAMATTA is committed to producing a limited number of pieces.
CREWNECK SWEATER – 100% SUPERFINE MERINO WOOL

It is a combed yarn made from pure virgin wool, extremely close to the micronage of cashmere.
This very fine yarn is the result of combining the most modern spinning technologies with the best wool from extremely fine and long fleeces, rigorously selected.
The valuable characteristics of the wool we use are its high hygroscopicity and breathability and its exceptional natural comfort.
They come from merino sheep, bred in Australia and New Zealand according to precise eco-sustainable quality standards that respect the animals, promoting biodiversity and free grazing, applying higher levels of animal welfare for wool production.
We have certificates for mulesing-free wool (NM) and all the traceability certificates for the wool we use.
The “super” (='s) classification designates the fineness of the fibers, i.e., their average diameter. The higher the “super” number, the finer the fiber.
The combed wool we use comes from historic Italian producers who process and treat it according to centuries-old traditions, using cutting-edge technologies that guarantee the highest quality raw materials.
This product series includes a limited number of models and colors. This is justified by the exclusivity of the product, which is made using particularly expensive and rare machinery, making production difficult and complex.
Our series is made with double-counted yarn in 1kg cones, each containing around 60km of thread per spool.
The crew neck and/or V-neck base is therefore produced using over 11km of yarn!
PARRAMATTA targets an exclusive market with competitive prices and a supply chain that is strictly controlled from animal welfare to the production process.
CREWNECK SWEATER - 100% ENGLISH LAMBSWOOL

Our lambswool is produced in England by Z. HINCHLIFFE & SONS. Near the city of BRADFORD, known for being the most exclusive area for the production of knitting yarns.
HINCHLIFFE & SONS has been in business for over 250 years, having been founded in 1766, and has always specialized in the production of high-end yarns, offering them in unique colors thanks to a refined and ancient processing technique.
We use only lambswool from Australia and South Africa.
Merino sheep have been specially bred to produce the softest and finest wool.
Our lambswool is therefore obtained exclusively from the first shearing of the animal.
Lambswool can be recycled, is compostable and biodegradable, leaving no harmful effects on the environment. For quality reasons, all fibers are dyed before they enter the spinning process, which can then be gentler on the fiber, meaning that the finished product will be softer.
The technology used also allows dyeing at lower temperatures, which in turn improves both the final fiber and the environment.
CREWNECK SWEATER DONEGAL TWEED - 70% WOOL 30% MOHAIR

The Donegal yarn takes its name from the Irish region of Donegal,
where it has been produced for centuries following traditional methods.
The yarn we use is “The Genuine Donegal Tweed,” made by DONEGAL YARNS,
one of the last remaining companies still producing authentic Donegal yarn.
The entire production and distribution process takes place at their traditional wool mill in Donegal, specifically in the village of Kilcar, which boasts a long history in textile manufacturing.
The company combines traditional machinery with cutting-edge technology to ensure the highest quality standards while preserving the heritage of the craft.
The Donegal yarn used by Parramatta is a luxurious blend made of 70% Merino Wool and 30% Mohair: 100% natural fibers carefully selected from the finest wools sourced in Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia.
Donegal Yarns oversees the entire yarn production process — from raw wool selection to dyeing and expert color blending.
Different fibers (Merino Wool and Mohair) are selected and blended to create unique shades, thanks to the thoughtful combination of dyed wool and completely natural fibers.
This blending process ensures a perfectly even mix of colors and is a key step in producing the Donegal Mohair Tweed used in this Parramatta collection.
