Behind Licofarma is the story of the brothers Leonardo and Consiglio Rescio, chemical engineers always passionate about the eco-sustainable extraction of natural substances. Following years of studies, training and experience gained in multinational realities within the pharma-chemical field, here in 1998, attracted by the numerous beneficial properties of Lycopene, the Rescio brothers decide to put to good use their knowledge into the development and implementation of an innovative extraction process, entirely ecological. An ambitious project which in 2004 leads them, together with their research team, to attain a patent for the production process of Organic Lycopene, extracted from tomatoes through carbon dioxide (CO2) in a supercritical state. In 2012, the entire know-how accumulated merges into a new business reality, Licofarma, where today, alongside the research of natural antioxidants, the team studies their application in the production of health supplements and functional cosmetics.
