Prendas de Marganai

Prendas De Marganai is a farm located in Iglesias (Southern Sardinia) at the foot of Mount Marganai, which with its grandeur overlooks the farm.
We are proud of our production of innovative liquors obtained from the plantation in our farm.
The company's history is rooted in the 1950s, when my grandfather reinvented himself as a farmer, giving life to this family-run business, which over the decades has seen the different generations work with the same enthusiasm and commitment of the beginning.
At the age of 33 I also made my choice of life: I reinvented myself as a farmer like my grandfather. And after many analyses and studies I decided to manage the farm experimenting with new crops if compared to the past, such as saffron and spelt.
All the products that are born in my company are a hard conquest obtained with sacrifice and are precious to me, that is the reason why I decided to call them as the Sardinian filigree jewels, called prendas.

The most precious spice in the world is used to obtain a refined liqueur produced using only and exclusively saffron.
The union between saffron and cereal alcohol is MIDA, a golden yellow liqueur packed in elegant bottles: MIDA is produced using 100% pure saffron.
Once tasted, one is fascinated by the explosion of persistent and highly aromatic scents, a sensation equal to that experienced by the mythical King.
MIDA, tasted fresh, goes perfectly with all the Sardinian traditional desserts.

Habanito is a pepper liqueur made only of habanero peppers cultivated in our farm.
It's a brand new liquor in which its spicy character is balanced by its persistent
flower-like flavour (in fact, the caraibic peppers - the habaneros - are more aromatic than the mediterranean ones).
My firm is one of the first that have produced a liqueur like this in Italy.
Habanito means fun and party, its hotteness can ignite immediatly every kind of cocktail.
Best serving: (very) cold, accompanied by dark chocolate or orange and cinnamon.
