Fullone oil mill is located in Barile (Pz), a small village in Basilicata in a unique area on the slopes of Mount Vulture (an extinct volcano), still unspoiled, harsh and with cold temperatures in winter and mild in summer. The volcanic soil and the surrounding environment help to create an extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality, as the Frantoio with its olive processing plant has been located for 100 years inside a huge hypogeum built by digging caves in the volcanic tuff, whose front part, visible from the outside, represents one of the oldest buildings in the Lucanian village.
Our family-run company produces an excellent extra-virgin olive oil ideal for true connoisseurs, the result of a careful selection of the best varieties of olives in the area and provides its own cold extraction system for third-party processing of high reliability and convenience. Since 1919 the FULLONE family has handed down the knowledge from generation to generation. The philosophy of our predecessors and the current one has always been attention to quality, to the production of excellent local products and therefore to national and international niche markets, despite having a lean company dimension that is always in step with the times.
A QUALITY PRODUCTION FOR A UNIQUE TASTE
Our oil is fragrant, slightly fruity and somewhat sweet, with a delicate but at the same time decisive flavor, golden yellow in color with green reflections and therefore suitable for everyone, including the little ones. Our mill produces 2 types of extra virgin olive oil.
NON FILTERED Extra Virgin Olive Oil
The production process of extra virgin olive oil takes place exclusively with mechanical procedures and with cold extraction; this involves obtaining an oil with a dense and full-bodied appearance (typical of freshly produced crude oil). The presence of very small particles of olive makes it not transparent to the eye. If the oil is not filtered, these particles will naturally tend to settle on the bottom of the container in which the oil is stored (tank, can, bottle etc.).
FILTERED Extra Virgin Olive Oil
In our oil mill we prefer to filter the oil by gravity, using a filter. The result is an oil that is decidedly more brilliant and transparent in appearance.
