Elbo has designed and produced a series of DRO with LED display and backlit LCD for direct visualization of measured values. They have unique operating features, with high accuracy and intuitive use. They are electronically reliable products with accessories useful for their installation and there are several models with different functions, for every application and for various manual machine tools.

Together with the optic scales and magnetic passive miniaturized sensors, they represent a measurement system with high reliability and accuracy in detecting the position and they are helpful to minimize errors due to wear of the machines.

Positioners and optical scales
Very versatile programmable positioners with 1, 2 or 4 axis. It can carry out positioning by recovering the clearance, it allows the repetition of the step n. times. It can use customizable software for special applications.
The Elbo range of optical lines can be fitted on most types of machine tools (horizontal and vertical lathes, milling machines, grinding machines, radial drilling machines, EDM machines, boring machines, etc.).
In the optical line models with transparency measuring, infrared emitters send out a beam that hits the phototransistors by crossing a collimator and a graduated glass line. Following a shift between the graduation of the glass line and the collimator, the intensity of the infrared beam on the phototransistors varies, creating sinusoidal signals proportionate to the graduation pitch. These signals are then processed and transformed into signals for displays or positioners. In models with lengths over 3,000 mm, reading is done by reflection on a specially-graduated steel line.
