My name is Josean Garcia, and I come from Bilbao, in the north of Spain. At the age of 25, I moved to Edinburgh to learn English, but that journey turned out to be much more than just a language-learning experience: after five years, I earned a degree in Glass Design.
The real turning point came when I discovered glassblowing—an intense and eye-opening experience that ignited a deep passion within me, one that has stayed with me ever since.
In 2007, this passion led me to Venice, the international heart of glass art, where I had the honor of working in Murano, including at the furnace of master Davide Salvadore.
After this formative experience, I decided to move to Turin to launch my personal project: JoGa Glass, a creative studio where traditional craftsmanship and contemporary experimentation come together every day.
Through JoGa Glass, I aim to promote and enhance artistic craftsmanship in the region, and to foster the appreciation of glass as a living art form—accessible and in dialogue with the city.
I would love for my workshop to become an open and dynamic space, welcoming tourists, students, schools, high school groups, and local residents—a place where people can discover the art of glassblowing up close, using traditional Venetian techniques.
Through courses, workshops, and live demonstrations, I hope to bring a little bit of Murano to Turin, offering a unique and engaging cultural experience.
I strongly believe that spreading artistic craftsmanship can enrich both Piedmont and Turin, while also contributing to shared cultural growth—capable of bridging tradition and innovation.

In this video, Maria Valeria Vendemmia, a journalist for TG3 Regione Piemonte, tells the story of my work as a glassblower in an extraordinary and captivating way. Thanks to her storytelling skills, she guides us through the creative process, exploring the traditional techniques I use and the passion I put into every piece of glass I create.
Discover the art of blown glass. In this video, I take you inside my artisan workshop, located in the heart of Turin, at Via Mazzini 50. Here, every day, I transform glass into unique works using colored rods from Murano — a symbol of the highest quality in the Italian glassmaking tradition. From the furnace to the final shape, I show the various stages of the creative process: the glass is melted in the furnace, then blown and shaped by hand, following ancient techniques passed down through generations. Each piece tells a story of passion, precision, and timeless beauty. Thanks to the engaging storytelling of journalist Maria Valeria Vendemmia from TG3 Regione Piemonte, this special feature allows you to discover not only the techniques but also the soul behind my work.

Sanded Melody - necklace

A harmonious encounter between tradition and contemporary design:
This necklace is composed of beads entirely handmade in blown and sandblasted glass, using the Venetian Roll-Up technique.
Each bead is born from the fusion of colored glass rods, heated and skillfully rolled around the blowpipe, then stretched, blown, and precisely shaped. The result is a soft, visually unique form that highlights the lightness of the glass and the delicacy of the sandblasted finish.
The beads, slowly cooled in the annealing oven, gain strength and durability while preserving their matte, velvety elegance.
The necklace—long and fluid—stands out for the visual rhythm of the beads and the tactile sensation of the sandblasting: a timeless accessory that blends glass artistry with modern taste, designed for those who seek a piece of jewelry beyond the ordinary.
Snake - sculpture

Snake is a suspended sculpture composed of a sequence of blown glass spheres that twist and wind through space like a serpent. Its creation brings together the ancient tradition of glassblowing with the contemporary design that defines every JoGa Glass piece.
The technique used is the Venetian Roll-Up, an age-old process involving the assembly of thin rods of colored glass, which are heated and rolled around the blowpipe. The glass is then pulled, blown, and shaped by hand to achieve the desired form. Each sphere is finally placed in the annealing oven, where the temperature gradually decreases, giving the glass greater strength and durability.
The result is a work that harmoniously blends tradition and innovation, color and transparency, substance and lightness.
