PietraNova - Bolgheri

In 2013, Milanese entrepreneur Franco Pravettoni, in love with Tuscany since ever, arrived in Bolgheri, taking over the Casa al Piano estate, one of the oldest in the area.
Franco chose the name PietraNova for this corner of paradise: Pietra for the historical origins of the place, Nova as a symbol of rebirth.

The farm structure and farmhouse date back to the year 1698, as attested by the engraving on the stone tile still visible on one of the farmhouse walls.

Wine and EVO Oil have always been produced here, as evidenced by the centuries-old olive trees and the historic wine cellar with concrete fermentation tanks still visible today.

PietraNova covers 15 hectares in a single body at the foot of the Castagneto Carducci hill.
Five hectares planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon give rise to the extraordinary PietraNova wines, while from the 1,500 olive trees of the Leccino, Moraiolo and Frantoio varieties comes an Extra Virgin Olive Oil with a typically Tuscan spiciness.

Agronomic management follows the principles of integrated agriculture to pursue sustainable viticulture.
At PietraNova, the vines and olive trees are placed within a complex/various and dynamic ecosystem consisting of woods, hedges, and trees to encourage the development of natural insect pest antagonists, as indicated by the principles of biological control.
