GE Distillery was born in 2019 in Colle Val d'Elsa, in the magnificent province of Siena, with the aim of creating an innovative Craft Distillery but strongly inspired by tradition and capable of creating new spirits, London Dry Gin in particular, of great quality.
The design was developed in collaboration with Green Engineering (http://www.greeneng.it/), international leader in the design and construction of distillation systems, and revolves around the English Bennet still, created, as in its first version from 1831, in solid copper but equipped with cutting-edge technologies which are applied for the first time on an artisanal reality and which allow the natural organoleptic characteristics of the raw materials to be kept unaltered to achieve extremely high purity and quality in the final product:
• TURBOSTILL TECHNOLOGY which allows obtaining great thermal power with low vapor pressure and temperature difference values.
• NANOCOPPER TECHNOLOGY never used until now in Italy and patented by Green Engineering which allows a substantial reduction of unwanted substances and high purity.
• VAPOR INFUSION process in which alcohol comes into contact with botanicals in the form of steam so as to extract their essence in the most delicate and balanced way possible.
The creation of each Gin follows a precise path that starts from the definition of the recipe and the choice of the raw materials which are carefully selected one by one starting from the juniper.
In the laboratories of CREA. (https://www.crea.unisi.it), the research center which houses the Distillery inside an evocative nineteenth-century building, test for the development of the recipe are carried out as well as specific instrumental and organoleptic analyzes on each distillation cycle (batch) which allow the control and track the quality of our products.
Each phase of the process, including production, bottling and packaging, takes place inside the Distillery under the supervision of Designer Eugenio Macchia, an important international name in the world of spirits production.
The GE Distillery creative team also supports customers in the development of the label, the research of the bottle and cap and the definition of the packaging so as to obtain a completely integrated process and be able to guarantee a product of the highest quality in every single detail.

GUD Gin

GUD is a Gin set between past and future.
Our goal was to create a truly contemporary product, inspired by tradition but with innovative thinking behind it. In creating the aromatic mix, we remained extremely faithful to the British tradition of London Dry Gin while still wanting to add something of our own, something that was linked to the aromas and flavors of our land.
GUD is “The Italian London Dry Gin”, a contemporary gin characterized by the balance of olfactory and tactile worlds that explode in citrus, floral and undergrowth notes. To give complexity to its unique flavour, less predominant, but always noticeable, nuances of spices and earth are added. A combination that makes GUD an innovative gin right from the first tasting, during which, little by little, the classic tradition that inspired its recipe is revealed, unmistakable in taste.
The first noticeable notes are those of citrus fruits, in particular Cedar and Calabrian Bergamot. These two fruits combine in the freshness and determination of GUD and manage to evoke in a unique way the power of the Calabrian cliffs, where the sea breaks on the granite rocks and the salt invades the land, leaving its mark in the strong taste of its fruits. The less pronounced Ligurian Chinotto notes sweeten the citrus component, giving complexity and breadth to GUD, while the Sicilian Lemon has the taste of continuity and tradition.
The floral scents of Roses and Neroli appear immediately afterwards, perfectly integrated: the right touch of harmony and femininity. The four roses used were selected to make different aromatic and chromatic contributions. In the flowers, the notes of peach, romantic rose, almond and honey give life to the unmistakable aroma of our gin. Their colors, their elegance.
And, right at the end, to give persistence and olfactory and tactile body, fresh and balsamic notes typical of the undergrowth are released: Pepper Grass, Myrtle, Walnut Husk and Azzeruole accompanied by the Woodiness of Oak and Angelica. The Petit Grain harmonizes the perceptive transition from the citrus top notes to the woody base notes, enhancing the floral component.
GUD is a gin which, although not markedly spicy, allows the most attentive palates to perceive notes of Cassia and Sandalwood, capable of offering balance even in the most instinctive and easy tasting. The undergrowth component, with its woods, gives depth and transforms GUD from a surprising, innovative and easy-to-drink gin to a more complex, balanced and traditional product.
Throughout the tasting experience, the different olfactory worlds are accompanied by the strong note of Tuscan Juniper, a particular variety harvested mainly in the woods of the hills between Siena and Montieri which slope towards the sea. The Iris Root anchors all the aromas of GUD: a symbol of continuity and elegance of our recipe, designed to make every detail unforgettable.
To best appreciate the complexity and richness of its bouquet, GUD cannot fail to be tasted in purity. A short tumbler and two ice cubes will be the accomplices of this journey.
Combined with a neutral tonic, with low sugar content and large bubble, GUD will give its best in an unforgettable Gin Tonic. The glass? A tumbler or a balloon. The garnish to match? They are all already inside GUD. But if you really want a bit of color then try some cedar peel and some fresh rose petals.
And finally His Majesty the Martini Cocktail! A frozen Martini glass "dirtied" by a veil of dry Italian vermouth and an olive will enhance the unmistakable taste of GUD.
