My name is Stefania Santone and I was born in Vasto (Chieti).
After the classical high school I followed an in-depth course in decoration and shaping organized by the Municipality of Rapino.
In 2006 I attended a course organized by the Abruzzo Region and obtained the diploma of "Operator of artistic ceramics" with the highest evaluation.
For years I have lived and worked in Guardiagrele (Ch), one of “The most beautiful villages in Italy”, the heart of the Majella National Park. The beauty of the places, characterized by a still uncontaminated and luxuriant nature, inspired me in the creation of works rich in quality and originality. In 2008 I organized my first solo exhibition entitled "From the earth to the dream". The land of Abruzzo, its nature, its traditions give the name to my second solo show: "The colors of the earth". Both solo shows met with considerable critical and public success. In my works, intense colors and creativity come together in an innovative combination of Abruzzo ceramic tradition and personal interpretation, from which the uniqueness and originality derive.
Sinking the roots in the Abruzzo ceramic tradition and drawing inspiration from it to get to innovate the themes and decorations and what I propose to achieve with my works. Thus, from traditional decorations, such as fioraccio, rosa spina or landscape, classic themes of Abruzzo ceramics, I came to rework in a modern style and, on ceramics, the design of a classic such as the "Presentosa abruzzese".
In 2006 I won the first prize of the biennial themed competition at the Abruzzese Artistic Handicraft Exhibition.
In 2015 I was included among the 300 best Italian artisan shops, by the Osservatorio dei Mestieri D'Arte of Florence, a non-profit association, committed to the promotion and safeguarding of Italian Artistic Handicraft, which confers a certification to the artisan workshops of excellence guaranteeing its quality.
For years I have been organizing decoration courses and workshops for adults and children in my shop.
