The Tenuta Dello Scompiglio, situated in the Vorno hills (Lucca) is an area of 200 hectares. It includes a centuries-old park with a villa, agricultural areas and some farmhaouses.The 5 vineyards are situated in various microclimates of the Tenuta.
The Vigna Madre was liberated from the brambles during the land restoration work. With vines that were still living, the vineyard was put back into production, maintaining the original plants. From these vines, biological material was selected for the planting of the native Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino vineyards.
In addition to these, since 2009 we have planted Syrah, a grape of French origin and cultivated in Lucca since 1600, the presence of which is historically attributed to the frequent travels of the Count of Montecarlo to France.
For our vineyards, we have adopted organic methods of farming, paying ulmost care and attention to the environment.
The name, “Lavandaia” for the wines, is a dedication to the laundresses of Vorno; the women who, for centuries and in all seasons, washed the laundry of the nobles of the city of Lucca in the waters of the streams of this area.
we take care of every aspect of the production of our organic wines.
Right from the production in the vineyard, we only use products of natural origin, from the twine for the binding of the vines, to the posts of pure, untreated wood, to the natural fertiliser of our donkeys, Totò and Nina. In the cellar, we have chosen not to use chemical products, but to reuse the wine waste, as in the case of lees, used to stimulate malolactic fermentation.
We apply the same eco-sustainability criteria in packaging, from non-plastic labelling to natural cork stoppers, to boxes only made from cardboard.

The oldest vineyard, from which it all began, and telling its story through the three native vines. From these comes the Lavandaia Madre, a wine dedicated to the laundry women of Vorno, which reflects their strength and expressiveness, which is, at the same time, delicately enveloping.
Lavandaia, Poetica IGT Toscana Rosso ORGANIC WINE - SANGIOVESE, COLORINO, CANAIOLO
All the poetry of the three main grape varieties contained in a single bottle. Power and structure are enveloped in a well-balanced and simple sensation of softness on the palate. Lavandaia Poetica is born from the grapes reproduced from the Vigna Madre vineyard. The result is a wine that stimulates the olfactory senses with hints of cherry and forest fruits sweetened by vanilla.
Lavandaia, Alta IGT Toscana Rosso ORGANIC WINE - SYRAH
A majestic Syrah of great elegance that expresses all the passion and the terroir from which it is born. The vineyard is situated in the highest part of the Dello Scompiglio. The result is a wine with warm and enveloping notes of blackcurrant and ripe cherries and the characteristic note of black pepper in the background.
