VIGNA PETRUSSA

VIGNA PETRUSSA is a boutique women-run winery for 3 generations, rooted in an area particularly suited to grape cultivation: the Judrio valley, in the Colli Orientali del Friuli area.
From the 8 ha planted with vines and cultivated with the utmost care and respect for nature's time, about 40,000 bottles are produced annually, with focus on wines from native grapes, including Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, Picolit, Refosco and Schioppettino (interpreted in 4 different types).
The quality of the wines is granted by the strict management of the vineyard, which involves, among other things, thinning the bunches on the vine and harvesting the grapes by hand at the moment of full and balanced ripeness.
The winemaking process respects tradition but at the same time envisages the use of modern technologies that increase the efficiency of the process, while protecting the product and the environment: the principles of sustainability from the vineyard to the cellar are faithfully followed and the winery is SQNPI (sustainable quality) certified.

A true thoroughbred, with a strong personality. A terroir wine produced in its own sub-zone, where the indigenous Schioppettino grapes express their full potential. Obtained with very low yields from carefully selected bunches, hand-picked at their perfect ripeness.
Vinified with indigenous yeasts, it matures for 24 months in wood and 12 in the bottle.
Intense red colour and perfume characterised by a seductive spicy note typical of the variety.
Excellent with velvety mushroom soups, fermented cheeses, roast meat and game, chicken tikka masala, Singapore-style rice noodles and sweet and sour dishes.

A bright indigenous white that leaves a trail of pleasant memories. The highest expression of its terroir, this white wine is produced from the Tocai Friulano vine, vinified in steel and aged in wood: it has a bright yellow colour with golden hues, an intense flavour with the typical pleasant hint of almonds. It opens full, harmonious and closes with good persistence.
Excellent with cured ham, soups, fish and white meat, chicken tikka masala, tacos, fajitas.

A creation born from Hilde's heart, a cuvée made from grapes from old indigenous vines that give life to an aristocratic wine with an antique, golden yellow flavour and colour. The nose is fine, persistent and harmonious. In the mouth it is soft, velvety, with great structure and a persistent aftertaste. It reaches maturity after three years from the harvest and the maturation plateau is between 5 and 6 years.
Excellent with hors d'oeuvres, velvety soups, shellfish, roast fish, fermented cheeses, tartare, sushi, tempura, ceviche and dim sum.

A unique son of our land. A native one that envelops with its full body and elegant softness. Its colour is purplish red, the aromas are intriguing and intense. The palate is full and silky with soft tannins.
Excellent with sliced meats, roasted red meat and game, Peking duck, ginger chicken, stewed meat.

A pure emotion. The most precious of treasures, set among the Colli Orientali del Friuli. A very rare native grape with a centuries-old history.
Its sparse bunch offers very few fruits that we know how to select by hand with great care and pick up in late autumn.
"Golden yellow in the glass, the nose reveals its unmistakable character. An intense, liqueur-like bouquet, rich in floral hints, exotic fruit and beautiful melon notes. The palate is smooth and creamy, complex and well balanced. A very nice finish with gentle hints of almond' (from the guide Ai Migliori vini d'Italia by D'Agata and Comparini).
A wine for conversation and meditation, but also an excellent companion for fermented cheeses and foie gras pâté.
