APPO SOC.COOP.AGR.

APPO is an organization of olive producers of over 11,000 member companies located between Lazio and Umbria.
APPO soc. coop. agr. carries out a set of activities and initiatives aimed at protecting the interests of its members as well as the final consumers. It provides its members with technical assistance in order to reduce the environmental impact of olive growing, to improve the quality of production and to monitor the olive fly through the publication of weekly bulletin, training courses on olive pruning in collaboration with the UNITUS.

Moreover, together with the Unione Nazionale Italia Olivicola (National Union of Italian Olive Growers) it participates in the oil traceability project: the entire supply chain is UNI EN ISO 22005: 2008 certified, from the production of olives to the olive oil sales.

APPO products are the following:
● Olive oil by Frantoio di Gradoli, (Gradoli Olive Oil Mill) which results mainly from olive groves in the area of Lake Bolsena, with a prevalent cultivar of Canino, also certified DOP (Protective Denomination of Origin) and, from the next campaign, Organic
● Olive oil by Frantoio di Castel Cellesi - Bagnoregio (Castel Cellesi - Bagnoregio Olive Oil Mill ), which results mainly from olive groves in the Valle dei Calanchi (Calanchi Valley), whose prevailing varieties are Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo, etc.
The olives, harvested by hand from the second decade of October, are processed within 12 hours of delivery. The olive oil is extracted solely by mechanical means and immediately filtered to guarantee healthiness and quality.

Olio di Roma IGP, is a 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil, cold pressed, certified IGP. Emerald green in colour, it releases a fragrant scent of fresh fruit, a hint of artichoke, a slight bitter and spicy aftertaste.



This extra virgin olive oil has a Protected
Denomination of Origin (PDO), a brand
acknowledged by the European Community
subjected to procedural guidelines that define
the origin, the permitted varieties and above
all its analitic and organoleptic characteristics.
Great olfactory breadth, from artichoke to catmint,
from thistle to helichrysum. An explosion of hints
of Mediterranean scrub both on the nose and
on the palate with a decisive volcanic note.
An aromatic finish with hints of mastic.
Ideal for structured dishes, also fatty and greasy.
Fish soups, red meats both grilled and roasted.
Fatty sea and lake fish such as mackerel, tuna,
sardines and halibut.
