CAMPAGNOLA GIUSEPPE

Wine-making traditions since 1907 in the Marano di Valpolicella valley. Five generations enamoured of land, vineyards and grapes. This was the year - today part of the group's logo - when the century-long story began of a wine cellar achieving excellence thanks to the love and passion of its components. This passion for the art of wine-making goes back to Carlo Campagnola, who was involved at an early age in the wine trade, followed by his wife Caterina Zardini who, after the untimely death of her husband, courageously continued the business and in 1907 won the medal for the best "Vino Reccioto" at the Wine Exhibition in Verona.
Today, the Campagnola company cares for vineyards, selects grapes and collaborates actively with more than 50 wine-growers in the most vocational vineyards around Marano di Valpolicella for a total of about 80 hectares. It also has 30 hectares in the Bardolino area, 25 hectares near Mortegliano in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 6 hectares in Bucchianico – Abruzzo region, collaborates with wine-growers in the Soave area with about 20 hectares and develops commercial projects in synergy with wineries of different Italian territories
This proudly brings the family company to the fifth generation. Luigi Campagnola handed down to his children and grandchildren with enthusiasm and constant dedication that special bond with the land, love for vineyards and wine, commitment and continued devotion to the art of wine-making, in the certainty that these features, upheld in more than 100 years of history, will continue to live on from generation to generation.
The Campagnola Group has created a great company through meticulous care over production, ageing and refinement of great wines, paying vital attention to improvements in production processes and quality.

A major restructuring project launched in 2000 saw Campagnola introduce not only cutting-edge technology and modernise wine-making and bottling plant, but also gave a precise identity to various processing environments. After more than 100 years of history, study and passion, the company today enjoys an efficient and productive structure in full respect of the local area; this combination between tradition and innovation is the background where the finest and most typical wines of the area are made and perfected.

A great red wine, from Corvina, Corvinone Veronese and Rondinella grapes, with an intense garnet-red colour, obtained by raisining the grapes for about 100 days. Fermentation at controlled temperature and maceration for 30 days. 60% of the wine obtained is aged for 24 months in 30 and 20 hl casks, and the remaining 40% in Allier oak barriques for 18 months. An evolved bouquet, fragrant and spicy, with overtones of cherry, bitter almond and plum.

A traditional Valpolicella made using the ripasso technique (second fermentation on unpressed Amarone skins). A delicately fragrant red with jammy overtones and a supple, wellbalanced flavour. Ageing in Slavonian oak casks for 12 months
