August 2021: We were coming out exhausted from Covid 19 but in
a hot summer on an Italian island, five Roman friends came up
with the idea of distilling their own spirit, LO:GIN.
Discovering that there was a slim French gentleman hiding on the
island who was mixing local botanicals to produce his own
shoddy gin was the spark that made us realize that our mission
was one: to produce a high quality gin that would stand out from
the rest of the producers, from taste to packaging. A minimal,
customizable label with an easily readable name in both Italian
and English.
Back in Rome we began studying, concocting and distilling for
two nights a week until we found the perfect recipe after "only"
eight months.
The end result is a well-balanced and excellent London Dry Gin:
the botanicals are steeped in cold grain alcohol 24 hours prior to
distillation in the still to extract only the purest juice of the
botanicals used: juniper, cardamom, cinnamon, pimento, angelica
and iris.
