In another House of Sequencing episode, Director of Regional Product and Segment Marketing RichardCapper, from Illumina, explains how the new flow cells adjust to different project scalability on NovaSeq X Series, and the capabilities and advantages of DRAGEN onboard offering world-class bioinformatics as a direct output from the NovaSeq X Series

In another episode of House of Sequencing, Kay Eron, Vice President and General Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, highlights the technology that maintains the Applied Biosystems 3730 Series Genetic Analyzer as a market reference and introduces the new SeqStudio Flex Genetic Analyzer, which revolutionizes the Sanger sequencing process

Another House of Sequencing episode. This time Peter Kleinsmit, Sales Director at Twist Bioscience, explains how they collaborate with scientists to develop clinical panels and how their sequencing hybridization-based capture panel is used for targeted NGS.

Macrogen Europe has something to tell you. We traveled across Europe to bring you THE message.

Pacbio is another member of The House of Sequencing. In this clip, you can listen to what Neil Ward, Vice President and General Manager of EMEA, has to say about improved error rates in HiFi sequencing, the multiplexing capabilities, and the Kinnex kit of their Revio system. Together with PacBio, we make accessible sequencing technology to thousands of researchers.

Library preparation

Sequencing (with customizable coverage options)

Delivery of data in FASTQ format (or other formats upon request)

(Optional) Basic or advanced bioinformatics analysis

Suitable for:

Resequencing of known genomes

De novo genome assembly

Detection and analysis of genomic variants (SNPs, InDels, CNVs, SVs)

Sequencing of microbiomes or non-model organisms

Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) – Macrogen Europe

Macrogen Europe provides comprehensive Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) services for human samples, ideal for genetic studies, clinical research, and the identification of disease-associated variants.

We use some of the most trusted and widely adopted exonic enrichment kits on the market:

Agilent SureSelect Human All Exon V7 / V8
Broad coverage of human exons with high capture uniformity, suitable for both research and clinical-grade projects.

Twist Human Core Exome / Comprehensive Exome
Innovative technology offering excellent uniformity, sensitivity, and flexibility in terms of target size and throughput.

Our WES service includes:

DNA quality control

Library preparation and exome capture

Sequencing on Illumina platforms (NovaSeq or NextSeq)

Data delivery in FASTQ format (BAM/VCF also available upon request)

(Optional) Bioinformatics analysis: variant calling, clinical filtering, annotation

WES is available for human genomic DNA, from blood, tissue, or saliva, with customizable coverage options (typically 100X on target).

RNA Sequencing (RNA-seq) – Macrogen Europe

Macrogen Europe offers a comprehensive RNA-seq service for transcriptome analysis, suitable for a wide range of sample types and applications in both research and preclinical settings.

We provide various library preparation strategies depending on the quality and quantity of the available RNA:

mRNA-seq with poly-A selection (Illumina TruSeq Stranded mRNA)
Ideal for high-quality total RNA; captures polyadenylated coding transcripts. Perfect for differential gene expression studies.

Total RNA-seq with rRNA depletion (Illumina TruSeq Stranded Total RNA Ribo-Zero)
Depletes ribosomal RNA; suitable for degraded RNA or for profiling non-coding RNAs (lncRNA, snRNA, etc.).

Low-input RNA-seq (Watchmaker)
Optimized for low RNA input or precious samples (e.g., biopsies, FFPE tissues).

The service includes:

RNA quality assessment (Bioanalyzer or Tapestation)

Library preparation based on selected method

Sequencing on Illumina NovaSeq X Plus

Data delivery in FASTQ format

(Optional) Bioinformatics analysis (alignment, quantification, differential expression, etc.)

We offer dedicated technical support to help select the most appropriate strategy based on your sample type, research goals, and input quantity.

Single-Cell RNA Sequencing (scRNA-seq) – Macrogen Europe

Macrogen Europe offers advanced single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) services for high-resolution transcriptomic analysis at the individual cell level. This approach is ideal for studies involving cellular heterogeneity, tumor microenvironments, immunology, and developmental biology.

We currently support two main platforms:

10x Genomics Chromium
The most established technology for high-throughput single-cell analysis.
Enables profiling of thousands of cells per sample, with optional add-on modules for VDJ, ATAC-seq, and multiome (RNA + ATAC).

Singleron Matrix®
An alternative platform offering a fast and simplified workflow for single-cell library preparation.
Optimized for clinical samples, including fresh and FFPE tissues, and compatible with low cell input.

Our service includes:

(Optional) Cell isolation
