MECCANICAD S.r.l. – Mechanical design, manufacturing and industrial 3D printing

MECCANICAD was founded in 2016 in Pontedera (Pisa, Italy), in an area with a long tradition in mechanical engineering and close to leading universities. The company is built on in-depth knowledge of precision machining and has a clear mission: solving mechanical problems, supporting customers from the initial idea to the finished part.

What we do
At the heart of our business is the technical department, made up of specialised engineers working with the latest parametric CAD software, starting with Siemens NX. We design special machines, fixtures and jigs for industry and precision engineering, as well as assembly lines and test rigs. We offer concurrent engineering, 3D modelling and detailed drafting, FEM structural analysis and research and development. Our services also include technical documentation (use and maintenance manuals, exploded assembly views, operating tags and manufacturing work cycles), CAD conversion of paper drawings and the redesign of existing components, even from photographs alone. We also provide consulting on purchasing, machining and commercial components.

We do not stop at design: we supply mechanical components and automatic machines, provide outsourcing services and support customers during the commissioning of equipment and machinery. Our in-house designed and built solutions include inspection gauges, mobile manifolds for pump flow testing and assembly presses for the automotive industry.

Industrial 3D printing service
With a fleet of Markforged and Formlabs printers, we offer a professional, fast and precise 3D printing service. Markforged technology, combining Continuous Fiber Fabrication and Fused Deposition Modeling, produces structural parts reinforced with carbon fibre, glass fibre or Kevlar®, able to replace metal parts at lower weight and cost. Formlabs stereolithography delivers very fine detail and high-quality surfaces, with a wide range of resins: rigid, flexible, transparent, high-temperature and flame-retardant. Rapid prototyping, functional parts, production jigs and fixtures, small batches with no tooling costs: every project is followed by a technician who checks its feasibility and selects the most suitable material and technology.

We work in a wide range of fields, mainly aviation and defence (including test rigs), oil & gas (including subsea and lifting equipment), industrial automation and packaging, special machines, research and development, and the tanning industry.

How we work
Every project follows a rigorous process: analysis of the input data and scope of work, planning, development with intermediate reviews, final review and customer approval. We offer real design for manufacturing, because excellent design is always based on knowing the technological limits of production. Our quality management system is ISO 9001:2015 certified by Bureau Veritas.

Security and confidentiality
Our premises are located in an industrial complex equipped with video surveillance and alarm systems connected to the police, and the company holds a licence under Article 28 of the TULPS (Italian public security law). Daily backups and firewall protection safeguard our customers’ drawings and data.
