Albino Armani 1607

The name Albino Armani has its roots in 400 years of history, winegrowing and passion for wine. A dynamic reality, which since its inception has looked favorably on growth and development, but also on conservation. Today, the ambitious family project boasts five privately owned estates, composing a total of 330 hectares of vineyards. The family vineyards are situated in three major Italian winegrowing regions: Veneto, Trentino and Friuli-Venezia Giulia.

The story begins in the Trentino part of Vallagarina, precisely on December 7, 1607, when Domenico Armani signed a notarized document (now at the Historical Archive of Trento), according to which his father Simone bequeathed land with "trees and vineyards" to him. Today, "Albino Armani Viticoltori dal 1607" means territory, or rather territories. The historic property in Dolcè, in the Adige Valley, works together with other estates in Veneto (Valpolicella Classica and the Marca Trevigiana), and with those situated in Trentino and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The traditional production of the company underwent a change in the late 1980s, when current owner Albino Armani (born in ‘59) joined his eclectic and far-sighted father Antonio, and began to bottle wines of excellent Adige Valley autochthonous grape varieties. Father and son were motivated by the desire to restore the strong identity of the valley and to experiment with new styles of wine.

Albino Armani is a brand name which is linked to a totally encompassing concept of respect for the territory. Here we are talking about a very strong bond with one’s surroundings, something that, ever since the planting of the first grapevines, has never been broken and which today represents the deepest belief of the enterprise. The strong bond with the land exists in connection with ancient agricultural know-how, which can still be perceived at the vineyards and in the cellars of all the Albino Armani estates. Today enjoying undisputed international appreciation, Albino Armani has always succeeded to perfectly combine multi-figure production with the desire to further the culture and agronomy of Trentino Vallagarina mountain dwellers. Their traditional growing methods are characterized by resilience and by people who live their calling with dedication and ethics, ignoring ephemeral fashions.

The heart of Valpolicella Classica holds the oldest memories of grape drying techniques.
Here, among vineyards on stone wall terraces and ancient hamlets, our Amarone defines the unique identity of the Marano valley, with a game of transparencies, changing fragrances of ripe fruit, dark spices and hints of chocolate and coffee.
On the palate it surprises you by its unexpected freshness, typical of wines produced on high hills, by its balance and pleasant tannins that make it a wine suitable for long aging.

In the southern part of Valdadige, the climate is characterized by intense temperature shifts and constant winds. These climatic conditions, together with the great experience of our vine-growers, make this an ideal place for the cultivation of Pinot Grigio. Years of research on this varietal have allowed us to achieve levels of excellence.
Straw yellow in color with light ash-grey hints typical of Pinot Grigio. The scent is intriguing, with intense notes of lime, pear and aromatic herbs such as mint and sage. In the mouth it is sapid and complex, fresh and persistent.

The Grave Friulana is a particularly suitable area for the cultivation of the “Glera” vine and therefore it was included in the appellation of origin (Prosecco DOC). Its stony and loose soil, the significant temperature shifts and the ventilated microclimate, make the grapes express their unique characteristics and, together with a careful vinification, result in an elegant Prosecco. In the glass you will find a surprising fine perlage, a fruity and fresh bouquet enriched with mineral notes. The sip is delicate and creamy and recalls the same scents you perceived on the nose. The finish is long, pleasantly sapid and mineral.

In Trentino Alto Adige, on calcareous and basaltic soils, the Chardonnay and Pinot Nero grapes merge into wise balance making this “Trento DOC” elegant and unforgettable. Enriched with a refined and persistent perlage, it keeps fresh and fruity notes of citrus and honey in the glass, together with crispy hints of yeast. The perfect balance between acidity and structure makes this wine particularly pleasant.

To let Nature take its course respecting its rhythms with mindful interventions both in the fields and in the cellar.
This is the philosophy of Maurizio Donadi, the winemaker who together with Albino Armani gave birth to the “Casa Belfi” project inspired by the biodynamic procedures.
Naturalmentefrizzante Bianco is straw yellow in color, with a fine and persistent perlage. Flowery and fruity scents are accompanied by notes of citrus, yeast and bread crust. It is lively on the palate with a perfectly balanced acidity. The yeast deposited on the bottom of the bottle adds softness and increases its longevity.
