A Global Platform for Italian Design 10th Edition 2026
Reaching its 10th edition Italian Design Day has become one of the key components of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cooperation and the Italian and International Ministry of Culture – Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity's strategy to promote Made in Italy, implemented globally by the Italian Trade Commission (ITA). Since its conception, the initiative has evolved into a “permanent roundtable” supporting the internationalization of the excellence of Italian design.
The 10th edition of Italian Design Day in Canada is the result of a close and extensive collaboration between the Italian Embassy in Ottawa, the Consulate General of Italy in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, the Italian Cultural Institutes in Toronto and Montreal, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Toronto and Vancouver, and key partners including the Industrial Design Association, Federlegno, and Salone del Mobile Milano.
The “roundtables” will recall Italy’s millennia-old expertise in transforming cities, as a model for sustainable and innovative urban development. Italian mastery transforms cities by linking sustainability, inclusion, and economic development with direct community engagement.
This year’s panel, with the participation of a special guest, Marco Sabetta, General Manager of Salone del Mobile Milano. featuring leading architects, designers, and industry experts, will explore: “Re-Design: Regenerating Spaces, Objects, Ideas, Relationships”, focusing on how design can transform environments, reinvent everyday objects, and strengthen connections between people and communities.
About Marco Sabetta
Since 2008, Marco Sabetta has served as Gen. Man. of the Salone del Mobile Milano, leading international trade show in furniture and design industry with six biennial exhibitions representing the entire home furnishing system: EuroCucina, International Bathroom Exhibition, Euroluce, Workplace3.0, the International Décor and Accessories Exhibition, and SaloneSatellite. A graduate in Economics and Business Administration, he has built a distinguished career in marketing, media, and major international events, holding senior roles at Fininvest, Publitalia, the Fiat Group (Publikompass), and served as Commercial Director of F.C. Internazionale Milano before joining Salone del Mobile Milano. He also oversees the international editions of the Salone in Shanghai and Moscow.
