ITA Kuala Lumpur - Skin care remained as one of the most significantly used beauty and personal care categories in Malaysia. Many Malaysians are willing to spend on skin care, be it mass or premium. With a growing number of male consumers becoming increasingly aware of men’s grooming and their appearance, demand for men’s skin care also grew significantly. Skin care records 7% current value growth in 2016 reaching EUR€53 million in 2016. Weakening consumer sentiment as a result of rising costs of living has also negatively affected demand for beauty and personal care since many local consumers prefer to save on their purchases or switch to cheaper alternatives. Therefore, many manufacturers and retailers in beauty and personal care prefer to attract greater volume sales through price discounts and promotional activities.The Italian Trade Agency of Kuala Lumpurhave invited 4 beauty and cosmetic companies to the ‘Cometic Made in Italy’ business meetings in Taiwan, Taipei 17 & 18 January 2018.
