AUSTRIA ABOVE EU AVERAGE WITH RESPECT TO ROBOT DENSITY

The number of robots used for industrial purposes is steadily increasing. In the meantime, this figure now equals 144 robots for every 10,000 employees in Austria, according to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR). Austria is ranked 14h the world, substantially higher than the European average of 99 robots. China is on the fast lane. The People’s Republic of China wants to “rise to one of the top ten among the most highly automated nations in the world by the year 2020”. Since 2010, South Korea has been rated first with 631 robots for every 10,000 employees, followed by Singapore (488) and Germany (309). These three countries outperform Japan, Sweden, Denmark, USA, Italy, Belgium and Taiwan, which make up the remaining spots in the top ten.
