MOEA ANNOUNCES HOUSEHOLD SOLAR POWER PRODUCTION PROJECT

On February 23rd the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced a project to encourage households in Taiwan to install solar panels on the roofs of their homes. Local governments will partner with private sector firms to organize households in designated areas and build solar panels for them. State-owned electricity supplier Taiwan Power Co. (Taipower) will then buy electricity from the operators at NTD 6.4137 per kilowatts an hour, 10% of which will go to the private households that joined the program.
