Marocco - Algeria - Giordania - Arabia Saudita - Bahrein - Emirati Arabi Uniti - Oman


A regional space coordination group has been launched by the UAE, which includes partnership among 11 key Arab countries such as Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Algeria, Oman and Jordan. The partnership will involve transfer of knowledge between the Arab countries, as well as helping train any potential astronauts that will be launched by a country. It was also announced that the UAE will be building a satellite to tackle climate change. It will be built by mainly Emiratis, however, engineers and scientists from other Arab countries will be contributing under the terms of the new group that has been formed. The UAE has already been working closely with Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in exchanging knowledge and helping the two countries develop their space programmers. The announcement was made at the first day of the Global Space Congress in Abu Dhabi. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was in attendance and met with the heads of the Arab countries involved.  (ICE DUBAI)
