Oman has allotted a total of 4,377 residential plots across the sultanate till the end of February with the governorate of A'Dakhiliyah getting the lion's share of 1,164 plots, reported Oman News Agency. However, these figures were down 31.5 per cent over the same period in 2018, when the Ministry of Housing had allotted a total of 36,733 residential plots, stated the report, citing statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI). Among the governorates, Al Buraimi came second in the allotment list with about 820 plots followed by Muscat with 745 plots, North A'Sharqiyah with 556 plots and South A'Sharqiyah with 499 plots. The governorates of Musandam, Al Wusta, North Al Batinah (except Sohar), A'Dhahirah, and South Al Batinah were allotted 215, 112, 88, 73 and 63 residential plots respectively, while Dhofar had the lowest number (42 plots). The ministry said the governorates of Muscat, Dhofar, Musandam and Al Buraimi alone witnessed a phenomenal increase in the number of residential plots allotted till February-end compared to the same period last year.
