EGYPT, EU TRADE EXCHANGE INCREASE 13 % IN H1

The trade exchange between Egypt and the European Union countries reached €14.2 billion during the first half of 2019 compared to €12.5 billion a year earlier with an increase of about 13 percent, Egypt’s Commercial Services (ECS) office in Brussels  announced.The Egyptian exports to EU rose relatively during the first half of 2019 to  register €4.6 billion, compared to €4.26 billion during the same period last year with an increase of 8.6 percent.While the Egyptian imports from the EU increased during the mentioned period to reach € 9.6 billion compared to €8.3 billion during the same period last year with an increase of 15 percent.However, the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and EU recorded € 27.7 billion during 2018 slightly increasing when compared to 2017.Egypt has exported mainly to Italy, Germany and Spain that captured 50 percent of the total Egyptian exports to the EU, followed by the United Kingdom, France, Greece, Bulgaria, the Netherlands and Belgium.
