FRED MEYER JEWELERS ANNUNCIA LA CHIUSURA DI 71 PUNTI VENDITA

Fred Meyer Jewelers announced the closure of 71 of its stores inside Kroger Marketplace locations by the end of May. This is their largest reduction of retail store since 2018, when the company closed 30 mall-based stores in one quarter. Such move was announced last week and does not appear to be connected to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Indeed, according to JCK Online, this decision was made as part of a portfolio review, in concert with its parent company Kroger. Founded in 1973 by Fred Meyer Stores, and once the second largest jewelry chain in the United States, the company has been steadily downsizing in recent years. Indeed, the company is expected to operate in more than 160 stores across the nations, as opposed to more than 320 ones in 2015. (ICE HOUSTON)
