KENYA - STUDY SHOWS ACCESS TO INFRASTRUCTURE CAN INCREASE YOUTH ENGAGEMENT IN AG

According to the research, a mindset change is one of the factors that canincrease youth engagement in agriculture, as students who had a positiveperception of the agribusiness environment were the most amenable to joiningthe sector.the government can invest in infrastructure that improves the competitivenessof the economy in general, and is essential for the agriculture sector in thecountry.With funding from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD),the Enhancing Capacity to Apply Research Evidence in policy for youthengagement in agribusiness and rural economic activities in Africa project,being implemented by the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA),aims to strengthen the capacity of young African scholars in generating anddisseminating evidence-based research results to inform future action plansfor governments, policymakers, & rural communities.
