HOUSE PRICES IN BULGARIA UP 8.7% IN Q3, 2021

House prices have increased by 8.7 per cent in Bulgaria and by 9.2 per cent in the EU in the third quarter of 2021, compared to a year earlier, show Eurostat data based on the house price index and pubslihed here on Friday. This increase in the euro area amounted to 8.8 per cent. This is the highest annual increase for the euro area since 2005 when house prices started to be collected, and since the second quarter of 2007 for the EU. In the second quarter of 2021, house prices rose by 6.8 per cent in the euro area and by 7.4 per cent in the EU. Prices in Bulgaria in the third quarter of 2021 increased by 3.2 per cent compared to the previous quarter. Compared with the second quarter of 2021, house prices rose in the third quarter of 2021 by 3.3 per cent in the euro area and by 3.1 per cent in the EU. In contrast to previous quarters, all Member States for which data are available showed an annual increase in house prices in the third quarter of 2021 and, for half of them, this increase exceeded 10 per cent.  (ICE SOFIA)
