Kazakh-Russian trade increased by 3.5% in January-July Trade between Kazakhstan and Russia rose 3.5% to amount to $13.7 billion in January-July 2022, the Kazakh Prime Minister’s office said. On September 22, as part of his working trip to Moscow, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration Serik Zhumangarin met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk to discuss trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. "The issues of bilateral cooperation in various sectors of the economy were raised during the talks including the priority projects for Kazakhstan: the reconstruction of the Astrakhan-Mangyshlak water pipeline, the supply of steel products to Russia, the transportation of Kazakh coal and iron ore via Russia, and unhindered exports of Kazakhstan's goods," according to the statement. The countries’ officials confirmed their commitment to working closely to address and promptly resolve all issues. The parties hailed the positive dynamics of mutual trade between the two countries. "In January-July 2022, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Russia amounted to $13.7 billion, which is 3.5% higher than $13.2 billion posted in the same period last year," according to the statement. Earlier, Kazak Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov said that in January-June 2022, trade between Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation increased by 5%. (ICE ALMATY)
