THAILAND PLANS TO CUT BORROWING TO B2.23T

During the fiscal year that is about to commence on October 1st, the Thai government is planning to borrow 2.23 trillion Baht, which is roughly equivalent to US$60 billion. The plan consists of 793.6 billion going towards dealing with the fiscal deficit, whereas the remaining 1.44 trillion is aimed to be used for refinancing current debt. Bonds are also planned to be issued during the period of 2022-2023, with a value of 1.09 trillion baht which will then be subdivided into several other categories such as bond switching, treasury bills, savings bonds, and overseas borrowing.
