AFRICA-THE 2022 AFRICAN ECONOMIC CONFERENCE IN MAURITIUS IN DECEMBER
AFRICA - Organized jointly by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the African Economic Conference 2022 (AEC 2022) is scheduled with the "Supporting Climate-Smart Development in Africa "theme in Balaclava, Mauritius, December 9-11, 2022. "The African Economic Conference creates the space to have an honest conversation about the future of Africa's development and the urgent actions we need to take to fulfill Africa's promise," said Ahunna Eziakonwa, Director of the UNDP Regional Office for Africa. The conference will bring together a variety of stakeholders, including policy makers, climate experts, the private sector, researchers and young people, to discuss the challenges posed by climate change, identify opportunities and strategies for adaptation and mitigation, learn from successes, identify key strategies for funding mobilization and drafting an action plan to support Africa's low-carbon and climate-resilient development. The AEC 2022 will be an opportunity to think deeply about institutional capacities to build smart development mechanisms to build resilience and the transition to low-carbon development pathways. The conference will provide a platform for established academics and young researchers to present to policy makers and decision makers their research aimed at strengthening Africa's response to climate change and its ripple effects (ICE ADDIS ABEBA)
