Statistics Lithuania (State Data Agency) informs that according to the preliminary data, as of 1 January 2023, the resident population of Lithuania totalled 2.86 million, which is by 54,000 more than a year ago.The change in the resident population in 2022 was influenced on the positive side by the extensive inflow of immigrants, estimated as slightly more than 72,400 persons, mainly war refugees from Ukraine. On the negative side, the number of deaths exceeded that of live births by 18,400. (ICE VARSAVIA)
