The Central Statistical Office (GUS) has reported that in April 2023 construction and assembly production was 1.2 percent higher compared to the corresponding period in 2022 and 3.5 percent lower compared to March 2023. The data released by the statistical office also show that seasonally adjusted construction and assembly production was 3.8 percent higher compared to the year-earlier period and 0.1 percent higher compared to the preceding month. According to the GUS, during the first four months of the year a total of 75,600 dwelling units were put into use, 3.1 percent more compared to the year-earlier period, pre-construction notifications or building permits were issued for 72,100 units, down by 32 percent y/y, and construction was started of 53,100 units, down by 27.7 percent y/y.
