Germany's Hansa Consortium planning to build a cargo air hub at Kazakhstan's Khorgos-East Gate SEZThe management of the Khorgos - East Gate special economic zone (SEZ) in Kazakhstan signed a memorandum of cooperation with Germany's Hansa Consortium for the construction of an air cargo hub on its territory, the press service of the SEZ reported."The German Hansa Consortium is considering the possibility of doing the construction. The initiative came from the leaders of The Hansa Consortium and the Skymax Technologies Group of Companies LLP from Kazakhstan. The parties signed a tripartite memorandum of cooperation," the statement says.The signatory companies also discussed prospects for the development of infrastructure projects, in particular, airfield solutions, the construction and management of airports, and the construction of storage facilities for aviation fuel and food industry facilities.The press service of the SEZ said that, in 2017, the implementation of a cargo-passenger airport project was launched on the territory adjacent to the SEZ; 754 hectares of land were reserved for this purpose.The Hansa Consortium specializes in the development of air terminals and facilities, aviation infrastructure, and the construction of fuel complexes. It has participated in projects for the modernization of international airports in Russia, Iraq, and Pakistan, and also participated in the construction of fuel complexes in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Philippines.The Khorgos - East Gate SEZ is located on the border with China in the Almaty region on the route of the Western Europe - Western China highway. The Altynkol freight railway station and the KTZE-Khorgos Gateway dry port transport and logistics complex are located on its territory. (ICE ALMATY)
