Kazakhstan welcomed nearly 500,000 tourists during summer seasonDuring the summer, Kazakhstan saw an influx of tourists, with almost 448,000 foreign visitors exploring the country, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports."Based on eQonaq data, a total of 448,000 foreign tourists visited Kazakhstan during the three summer months, about 65% of these visitors were men, and the majority fell within the 30 to 44 age group,” the Ministry said.Almaty, Kazakhstan's largest city, attracted the most tourists, 139,000. Astana came second with 68,000 tourists, and the Almaty region ranked third with around 34,000 visitors.Western Kazakhstan was also popular among foreign tourists, with over 28,000 in the Mangistau region and more than 25,000 in the Atyrau region. The Akmola region received around 21,000 foreign travelers. Other regions, like Zhambyl, Aktobe, Karaganda, and North Kazakhstan, saw a total of more than 14,000 foreign tourists."Overall, the number of foreign guests in Kazakhstan has surged by 80% from the beginning of the year. It is projected that by the end of 2023, the country will have welcomed around 1.4 million tourists from other countries,” the Ministry said. (ICE ALMATY)
