Beijing-headquartered China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) has announced that it has started construction work on the Jeddah Central stadium project in Saudi Arabia. CRCC is supported by the local contractor Sama Construction for Trading & Contracting. The construction of the stadium is expected to be completed by 2026. The stadium will have the capacity to accommodate 46,000 spectators. The structure will have seven floors above ground, two underground floors, air conditioning and moveable roof systems powered by solar energy. In January,  Jeddah Central Development Company selected CRCC and Sama Construction for Trading & Contracting for a contract to build the Jeddah Central stadium project. The design contract was awarded to German architectural firm GMP International in 2022.
