According to the acting director general of plantations at the Ministry of Agriculture, Heru Tri Widarto, Indonesia has abundant natural resources, especially in the plantation sector such as palm oil, rubber, coffee, spices, and cocoa. By implementing modern agricultural technology from Europe, Indonesia can increase the productivity, quality, and added value of these commodities, he said. "Indonesia, with its abundant resources, strategic location, and commitment to sustainable agriculture, offers fertile ground for such collaboration," he added during the EU-Indonesia Agribusiness Forum in Jakarta on Monday, 28 October 2024.He said that the increasing demand of the Indonesian people for high-quality dairy and beef products has also opened up great opportunities for companies from the EU to invest in the livestock sector in the country.Modern breeding, production, and processing technology from European countries are expected to help meet the demand of the Indonesian people for beef and milk, while improving the quality of livestock products in the country. In addition, the EU is considered to have a long track record and deep expertise in the field of dairy and beef farming.
