Kazakhstan and Hungary will increase trade turnover to $1 blnKazakhstan and Hungary intend to increase mutual trade turnover to $1 billion, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said."The world is going through an economic and energy crisis. Nevertheless, mutual trade turnover between our countries is steadily growing. Last year, it grew by 9% compared to the previous year. Our goal is to boost trades to $1 billion," Tokayev said at a joint briefing with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban after talks in Budapest, according to a Thursday press release published by the presidential press service.Tokayev said that Kazakhstan is ready to supply Hungary with 95 types of goods for a total value of $700 million."Kazakhstan can export products and goods of such industries as energy, metallurgy, petrochemistry, mechanical engineering, agriculture and construction," the president said.Tokayev added that Hungarian companies demonstrate an interest in investment projects in Kazakhstan. "Hungary’s investment in Kazakhstan has totaled $370 million since 2005,” he said.The president told the briefing that he had held meetings with the heads of large Hungarian companies, including MOL, OTP Group, Gedeon Richter. "We signed an agreement with UBM on the construction of three fodder factories worth $62 million," the president said."The present moment demands that economic ties should be intensified. We must fully realize the potential in such areas as extraction and processing of rare metals, water management and agriculture. Our priority is to expand the range of products and goods for trade, attract innovative technologies, strengthen partnership in the energy, digitalization and transport sectors. These measures will support development of new areas of the partnership," Tokayev said. (ICE ALMATY)
