Jordan has achieved significant progress in the 2024 Global Knowledge Index (GKI), advancing nine positions to rank 88th out of 141 countries, compared to its 97th position among 133 nations in 2023.The improvement comes from the country’s commitment to its Economic Modernization Vision, spearheaded by the Ministry of Education.This milestone is attributed to enhancements across key areas such as pre-university education, higher and vocational education, information technology, scientific research, the enabling environment, and economic performance.It highlights the Jordanian government's efforts to bolster global competitiveness and transition towards a knowledge-based economy.The Ministry of Education said that this achievement is the result of collaborative efforts between governmental bodies, academic institutions, and international partners.It reiterated its dedication to advancing education, knowledge, and innovation to achieve sustainable economic development goals, strengthening Jordan's global standing and paving the way for a robust knowledge economy for future generations.The Global Knowledge Index (GKI), developed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, serves as a global benchmark for assessing countries' performance in education, research, innovation, and technology.
