Kazakhstan’s proved oil reserves stand at 30 bln barrels - EIAKazakhstan’s proved oil reserves totaled 30 billion barrels as of January 1, 2025, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) of the U.S. Department of Energy said in its report titled Regional Analysis Brief: Caspian Sea.“Significant oil and natural gas reserves exist from both offshore deposits in the Caspian Sea and onshore fields in the Caspian basins. Traditionally an oil-producing area, the Caspian area has more recently grown as a natural gas producer,” the report says.Petroleum production in the offshore Caspian by Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan accounted for 1% of global petroleum supplies and almost 3% of global natural gas supplies in 2022, according to EIA.As of January 1, 2025, the proved reserves totaled 30 billion barrels in Kazakhstan, 600 million barrels in Turkmenistan and 594 million barrels in Uzbekistan, says the report.
