The 12th International Exhibition of Elevator, Escalator and Related Industries and Equipment entitled “Iran LIFTEX 2023” was inaugurated in Tehran on Friday in presence of President of Iran Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Bahman Abdollahi, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mr. Seyed Mohammad Mousavi and some Majlis lawmakers and managers in the cooperative sector.Addressing the opening ceremony, President of ICC Mr. Abdollahi said that almost 95% of escalator industry has been indigenized in the country and the country only imports 9% of its required parts and in the near future all of the parts will be produced in the country.He added that escalator and elevator industry in the country has progressed considerably in recent years and in production of elevators with high altitude some good actions have been taken.Abdollahi further said that production and quality in this industry have reached to the acceptable level, expressing hope in less than five years the country would be needless of imports.He said that ICC is in interaction with other countries for easing exports and with what will happen in this industry in the next three years, the country will step up exports.Abdollahi reiterated that production of parts of elevator ae currently exported to over 15 countries due to their good qualities, adding that elevator and escalator industry is one of the leading industries of the country whose products are exported to the neighboring and European countries.He added that over 140 domestic companies as well as 15 foreign companies from 7 countries have participated in this exhibition which is aimed at boosting the exports.He noted that some 1200 escalators are produced in the country annually and over 2000 of them are The latest achievements of the participating companies were displayed at this exhibition within the framework of groups of product of elevator, escalator, conveyor belt, crane (lift), lift-truck, consultation, design, production, installation and commissioning of related equipment, smart-building, modern technologies, etc.Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings and expert-level meetings will be held on the sidelines of the exhibition with the participation of trade and economic delegations from countries including Pakistan, Iraq, Iraq’s Kurdistan region, Afghanistan and Oman.The representatives of countries including Spain, Germany, Italy, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) took part in the exhibition. The 12th International Exhibition of Elevator, Escalator and Related Industries and Equipment was naugurated by Iran Chamber of Cooperatives at Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds on Friday which will run until through July 17.
