ARAMCO GIVES GAS PLANT EXPANSION BIDDERS MORE TIME

Saudi Aramco has given contractors more time to bid for work on an estimated $4bn-plus project to increase the production potential of the Fadhili gas processing plant in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. The project will expand the output potential of the Fadhili gas plant by 1.5 billion cubic feet a day (cf/d) with the addition of three processing trains – each with a capacity of 500 million cf/d. The Fadhili gas processing complex, located 30 kilometres southwest of the Khursaniyah gas plant, was commissioned in early 2020 and has the capacity to process 2.5 billion cf/d of natural gas. Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works on the Fadhili gas plant expansion project have been divided into four packages: Package 1 – Gas processing plant expansion Package 2 – Sulphur recovery units (SRUs) Package 3 – Utilities and offsites Package 4 – Early civil works Aramco issued the tenders for these EPC packages between March and April this year, and set 15 July as the initial deadline for submission of proposals. Aramco organised a site visit for contractors on 15 the Saudi energy giant has extended the bid submission deadlines to 31 August for packages 1 and 2, and 10 September for packages 3 and 4.
